F is for Falcon

Falcon a.k.a Sam Wilson is a Marvel Comics character. The character was created by Stan Lee and artist Gene Colan; his first appearance was in Captain America #117 in 1969. According to Marvel.Com the characters full name is Samuel Thomas Wilson. His sometimes goes by Brother Falcon, Blackbird, and Snap Wilson, just to name a few. He was born in New York City, New York; to parents Paul Wilson who was a minister and Darlene Wilson who unfortunately is killed some time later by a mugger.
This sets Wilson off and in turn he moves to Los Angeles and gets into a crime ring becoming a criminal under the name Snap Wilson. The Marvel Wiki Database says that Wilson is sent on an assignment of sorts in Rio de Janeiro but when the plan crashes he gets stranded on a remote Caribbean Island and encounters Red Skull a villain who seeks to use Sam as an unseen enemy against Captain America who is on the Island looking for Red Skull. He convinces Captain America that Sam would be useful in helping him fight crime and apparently Captain America goes along with this but Red Skull has some sort of a magic cube, a "Cosmic Cube" more specifically,  that makes Sam forget his criminal past and that makes him able to telepathically communicate with birds, thus Sam befriending the bird Redwing and this leads to Sam becoming the Falcon.

It should also be noted that Falcon will actually appear in the Film Captain America: The Winter Solider, which just came out a few days ago, (GOOO SEE ITTT) and he will be portrayed by Actor Anthony Mackie. When I saw this I was extremely excited because Anthony Mackie is one of my favorite actors and then the fact that there is a possibility that more movies will be made with this character is so awesome! YAYYYY!

P.S :  Falcon was the first African American Superhero to appear in Mainstream Comics.
