Blogging for E:

E is for Erykah Badu:

Where do I even begin? The soul singer who is known by many names, which are: Analog Girl, Low Down Loretta Brown, Analog Girl in a Digital World, Fat Belly Bella, Medulla Oblongata, Maria Mexico, Annie, She-Ill. All of these names speaks to how soulful and creative she is. From "On and On" to "Jump Up In The Air And Stay There". I've always followed Erykah Badu.  I don't think there is song that she has out that I don't like.

Erykah inspires me because she is also an artist that has always stayed true to herself. She knows her worth and according to her won't get on stage unless she is satisfied and I dig that. She's a Southern Girl and just a woman who radiated beauty and power. A great role model. She represents for so many communites and she isn't afraid to speak her mind. She's respects her ancestors and those who have paved the way for her; she's very humble which seems so rare these days given the way music has gone. I love me some Erykah!

Erykah in her own words:
"I'm an artist, and I'm sensitive about my shit".

" I got luv fo' my folks
Baptized when the levy broke
We gone keep marchin' on
Until you hear dat freedom song
And if you think about turning back
I got the shotgun on ya back
And if you think about turning back
I got the shot gun on ya back"
